Joint military operation to purge Balad, Duluiya outskirts begins

(IraqiNews.com) On Thursday, according to a security source in Salahuddin province, a joint military operation was launched to purge the outskirts of Balad and Duluiya south of Tikrit.

The source said in an interview for IraqiNews.com, “A massive joint military operation of security forces and locals was launched this morning between the provinces of Diyala and Salahuddin.”

The source, who asked not to be named, added, “The operation aims at purging the outskirts of the districts of Balad and Duluiya from the western side.”

Most areas of Salahuddin province are experiencing military operations to chase ISIS elements. The forces have made significant progress and  restored a number of areas.
