9 persons released of kidnapped Qataris in Iraq
(IraqiNews.com) Baghdad – Local media reported in breaking news aired last night, that nine of the abducted Qataris in Iraq had been released.
They mentioned in breaking news, “The armed group that kidnapped a number of Qatari hunters last night in the desert of Muthanna province, released 9 of them,” adding that, “Nine of them arrived in Kuwait”.
Earlier yesterday, a source in the Iraqi police said that an armed group abducted 16 Qatari hunters in Najaf desert, while pointed out that one of the kidnapped is a “Qatari Prince.”
Noteworthy the presence of gulf hunters in the southern desert to practice hunting using hawks goes back to before 2003; those trips were organized under the supervision of the intelligence service, and after the ouster of the former regime. The number of gulf hunters declined due to security issues.
