Foreign Ministry: Nimr’s execution is unjust, violates human rights

(IraqiNews.com) Baghdad – On Sunday, Iraqi Ministry of Foreign Affairs has condemned the unjust execution of the Saudi Cleric Nimr al-Nimr, while pointed out that the elements of the ISIS organization should have been charged with terrorism not the opponents. It also assured that the execution of al-Nimr will not serve the region and its stability.
The Ministry’s Spokesman Ahmed Gamal said in a statement followed by IraqiNews.com, “The Iraqi Ministry of Foreign Affairs is condemning the unjust execution of Sheikh Nimr Baqr al-Nimr,” adding that, “The freedom of expression and human rights must be respected and this execution is a violation of these rights.”
Gamal continued, “The charges of terrorism should have been directed to the elements of the terrorist organization “ISIS” not to the opinion’s opponents.”
