(IraqiNews.com) Baghdad – On Wednesday, hundreds of citizens and activists have demonstrated in the Liberation Square in central Baghdad to eliminate the presence of the Saudi embassy in Baghdad and prohibit the import of Saudi goods, in response to the execution of Sheikh Nimr al-Nimr.

A statement received by IraqiNews.com said, “Today, hundreds of people have demonstrated in the Liberation Square in central Baghdad at the invitation of the leaders of al-Hashd al-Shaabi against the execution of Sheikh Nimr al-Nimr.

The statement added, “The demonstrators called for the elimination of the Saudi embassy’s presence in Baghdad, in addition to the prohibition of Saudi goods inside the country.
