9 people arrested in Baghdad, Najaf, Diala

BAGHDAD / IraqiNews.com: Nine people were arrested in Najaf, Diala and Baghdad, while two bombs were defused in Missan, the Baghdad Operations Command said on Wednesday. “A joint force of the Najaf police department, anti-explosives department and the 8th division of the Iraqi army raided Wadi al-Salam cemetery, where they arrested five suspected gunmen,” the command said in a statement received by IraqiNews.com news agency. “Dial police managed also to arrest a wanted man in Bani Saad district,” it added. “An armed gang of three people were arrested in al-Dubat neighborhood in al-Bayaa region.” The statement said. “Missan police defused two bombs; the first on the road that links al-Kahlaa district to Qalaa Saleh and the other bomb was defused near al-Batat bridge without casualties,” it noted.
