Allawi forms new political lobby
(IraqiNews.com) Bagdad – On Tuesday, Leader of the Iraqi National Coalition Iyad Allawi announced the formation of a new political lobby called Wataneyat al-Anbar, while explained that he aims to achieve 16 goals including the return of the displaced people of Anbar and the release of detainees in the province.
The Head of the new lobby Taha Abdul Ghani said in a statement followed by IraqiNews.com, “Wataneyat al-Anbar Lobby (Anbar National Lobby) includes four members of the Anbar Provincial Council.”
Abdul Ghani added, “The formation of the new lobby comes as a result to the failure of previous political elites in Anbar,” pointing out that, “It will be a national project that will adopt 16 goals including the return of the displaced people of Anbar and the coordination with the central government and international organizations for the reconstruction of areas affected by terrorism.”
He continued, “The goals also include the cooperation with the government to follow up Anbar prisoners’ issue and the return of the suspended officers to their military institutions.”
Meanwhile, new lobby’s Leader and Electricity Minister Qassim Fahdawi said, “This alliance is seeking to rebuild Anbar and the presence of a better government in the province.”
Allawi said in a press conference, “The political process has reached an impasse and are not compatible with the goals of the Iraqis.”
