Ministry carries fertilizers to Baghdad, provinces

BAGHDAD / IraqiNews.com: The agriculture ministry’s State Company for Agricultural Supplies (SCAS) received more than 20,200 tons of urea fertilizers from the Khour al-Zubair plant and carried them to Baghdad and other provinces, according to a ministry release on Sunday. “SCAS distributed 79 tons to Baghdad , 888 tons to Salah al-Din, 552 tons to Muthanna, 83 tons to Najaf, 2072 tons to Wassit, 2924 tons to Kirkuk and 8690 tons to Ninewa,” read the release as received by Iraqi News. “Also, Diwaniya received 82 tons, Anbar 617 tons, Babel 173 tons and Diala 2024 tons,” it added. The fertilizers, distributed as part of a plan to prepare for the current summer season, are sold at subsidized prices to increase agricultural production, the statement noted. AmR (P)/SR 1
