NINEWA / IraqiNews.com: The Multi-National Force (MNF)’s U.S. Engineering Corps carried out two drinking water projects in Talafar at a cost of more than $500,000, said a source from the district’s water department on Friday. “The two projects, with an estimated cost of $525,000, were finalized in Talafar district, (60 km) northwest of Mosul city, on Friday (Aug. 28),” the source told Iraqi News. “The first project envisages the extension of a pipeline of a diameter of 10 inches from Dorat al-Qala’a to Dorat Raas al-Jada in central Talafar, while the second was the extension of a pipeline of a diameter of 14 inches from water reservoirs in al-Nour neighborhood, northern Talafar, to al-Jazirah neighborhood in southern Talafar,” the source noted. He added that the pipelines used in the two projects were the products of an Iraqi contracting firm. Mosul, the capital city of Ninewa province, lies 405 km north of Baghdad. AmR (P) 1
