Iraq, UN discuss water crisis

BAGHDAD / IraqiNews.com: The Iraqi water resources minister met in Baghdad with the UN secretary general’s representative for Iraq, Ad Melkert, and discussed with him his ministry’s plans to deal with the water crisis. “The ministry took a number of measures to deal with water crisis,” the ministry said in a release on Tuesday received by Iraqi News. “We are following up with officials in Turkey, Syria and Iran to increase Iraq’s water share,” it said.
