Russian energy minister arrives in Baghdad Monday

BAGHDAD / IraqiNews.com: Russian Minister of Energy Sergey Shmatko is scheduled to arrived in Baghdad on Monday leading a delegation of power experts and representatives of Russian firms, according to an electricity ministry press release on Sunday. “Shmatko will have talks with his Iraqi counterpart Kareem Waheed Hassan on commencement of work on al-Yousufiya power plant, the rehabilitation of two units in al-Hartha station, a hydro-electric station in al-Adhim and al-Debis power plant,” read the release as received by Iraqi News. “The delegation includes representatives of Russian companies that have signed contracts with the Iraqi ministry like Technobrom and IES,” added the release.
