Work resumes on multi-story parking garage in Kut

WASSIT / IraqiNews.com: Construction work has resumed on a multi-story parking garage in Wassit’s Kut city following a two-month hiatus, according to a local official. “The cost of the project exceeds 8 billion Iraqi dinars,” an assistant to Wassit’s governor for technical affairs, Subeih Laftah, told Iraqi News. The project has stopped for two months for not meeting technical standards, Laftah explained. “It is one of the most vital projects in Kut. It will help ease traffic congestion in the city as it has spaces for more than 500 cars,” he noted. Kut, the capital city of Wassit, lies 180 km southeast of Baghdad. SS (P)/SR 1
