(IraqiNews.com) Baghdad – On Sunday the Iraqi Cleric Muqtada al-Sadr entered the Green Zone in the center of Baghdad, which includes many government offices, as well as the parliament, American and British embassies.

Sadr said in a statement, “”Today we are at the entrance of the Green Zone and tomorrow we will be within it.”

Earlier today, Iraqi Cleric Muqtada al-Sadr revealed his intention to protest inside the Green Zone as a show of discontent with the government’s slow pace of carrying out reforms.

Sadr’s office ensured the sit-ins will remain peaceful and called the supporters of the Sadrist movement to abide by the rules and order.
