Electricity ministry to hold conf. in Arbil next Saturday

BAGHDAD / IraqiNews.com: The electricity ministry will hold a conference next Saturday to be attended by 150 global companies on carrying out seven energy projects in Iraq, a spokesman for the ministry said Wednesday. “The ministry will hold an international conference next Saturday (Sept. 26) at the Sheraton Hotel in Arbil with the participation of 150 Iraqi, Arab and international companies,” Azeez Sultan told Iraqi News. “The ministry will present a project during the conference to set up seven energy plants throughout Iraq within its 2010 plan which could supply Iraq with 4,000 Megawatt,” he added, pointing out that the plants will be established in Samawa, Diwaniya, Baghdad, Basra, Kirkuk and Mosul. “The plants will be established in cooperation with the U.S. General Electric (GE) and German’s Siemens companies,” he said.
