Egyptian plane hijacked and forced to land in Cyprus
(IraqiNews.com) Baghdad – An Egyptian source revealed on Tuesday, that an Egyptian plane belonging to EgyptAir was hijacked while heading from Alexandria to Cairo, while pointed out that the hijacker forced the crew to land at Larnaca Airport in Cyprus.
The source said in an interview followed by IraqiNews.com, “An Airbus 320 flight No.181 belonging to EgyptAir was hijacked while heading from Burj al-Arab Airport in Alexandria to Cairo,” pointing out that, “The hijacker forced the crew to land in Larnaca Airport in Cyprus.”
The source, who preferred anonymity, added, “The hijacker was wearing an explosive belt, and forced the pilot to change the flight route.”
