Iraqi Parliament dismisses Jubouri and appoints Janabi for its presidency
(IraqiNews.com) Baghdad – On Thursday the Iraqi Council of Representatives decided to dismiss the current president of the parliament Salim al-Jubouri and appoint Adnan al-Janabi as the temporarily president during the parliament’s meeting that was attended by 171 members.
An informed source told IraqiNews.com, “The House of Representatives voted during a meeting headed by the MP Adnan al-Janabi and attended by 171 members to dismiss its current president Salim al-Jubouri, along with his first deputy Hamam Hamoudi and the second deputy Aram Sheikh Mohammed.”
The source added, “During the meeting the MP Adnan al-Janabi was appointed as the temporary president of the parliament until the election of a new president.”
