Electricity minister opens 2 new power units in Najaf

NAJAF / IraqiNews.com: The Iraqi Electricity Minister Kareem Waheed on Wednesday opened two new power units at the Najaf gas-driven generation station. The new units will add 246 Megawatts to the existing 75 Megawatts capacity of the station. The total cost of the project was $59 million. “Each new unit has a capacity of 123 Megawatts,” Makee Jaafar, the project’s director, told Iraqi News.
