(IraqiNews.com) Baghdad – Saudi Ministry of Interior announced that the country witnessed on Monday a number of suicide attacks that targeted different sites including the holy city of Medina, Shia-majority province of Qatif and the US consulate in Jeddah.

A suicide bombing near the holy mosque at Medina, the holiest city in Islam after Mecca, claimed lives of four security officers and injured five others. The suicide bomber detonated his explosives after being stopped outside the Prophet’s Mosque.

Also, in the early hours of the day, Saudi officers foiled an attempted bombing near the US consulate in Jeddah, while a suicide bomber struck a mosque in the Shia-majority province of Qatif shortly before sunset. There has been no immediate claim of responsibility for the attacks.
