Jan Kubis condemns Rashidiya blast

(IraqiNews.Com) Baghdad- Jan Kubis, Special Representative of UN Secretary-General in Iraq, on Tuesday condemned the suicide bombing that ripped through a busy market area in Rashidiya, northeast of Baghdad, earlier in the day.
In a release issued to the media Kubis said, “This attack, which comes after the massive suicide attack at Karrada in central Baghdad and the bombing of a Shiite shrine in Balad, is another indication that the terrorists are simply targeting the innocent civilians who were busy in their morning marketing. This is an attempt to avenge the death of their members in the battle fields.”
“I offer my deep condolences to the family members of the dead and wish the injured a speedy recovery,” Kubis further added.
