(IraqiNews.com) Kirkuk – The governor of Kirkuk Najmiddin Karim today received the Deputy Head of the UN Assistance Mission for Iraq (UNAMI) George Poston at his office in the city hall in central Kirkuk, to discuss the latest political and economic developments, IDPs issues and about the war against ISIS.

Najmiddin Karim called on UNAMI to provide assistance for facilitating the return of the IDPs to the liberated areas and for preparing favorable conditions for the reception of Hawija’s displaced persons after liberating the area from the ISIS control.

Karim said, “Kirkuk is facing major challenges amid the current financial crisis, especially after receiving 600 thousand displaced persons.”

From his side, the Deputy Head of UNAMI George Poston expressed the understanding of the mission to the obstacles and challenges that Kirkuk is facing and confirmed its support to the liberated areas in order to regain security and stability.
