High turnout at electoral update centers reflects Iraqis’ determination to pull through- UN

BAGHDAD / IraqiNews.com: The special representative of the United Nations secretary general for Iraq, Ad Melkert, described the high turnout by Iraqis at electoral update centers as an indication of their determination to make a political recovery. This came during his visit to a voters’ registry update center in al-Salihiya area, Baghdad, according to a statement released by the United Nations office in Baghdad. During his visit, which lasted more than an hour, Melkert, expressed his appreciation of the efforts made by the center’s staff, the statement noted.
