Maliki says Arab efforts to patch up differences with Syria did not work out

BAGHDAD / IraqiNews.com: Iraqi Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki said on Tuesday that Arab efforts to patch up differences with Syria did not work out, noting that Arab meetings aiming to transfer the case from the United Nations to the Arab League could lead to lose Iraqis’ rights. Answering to reporters’ questions through the website of the National Media Center, Al-Maliki said that “Baghdad welcomes any effort aiming to put an end to the foreign interference in Iraq, mainly the terrorist attacks, but we expected since the beginning that the Syrian side will not respond to the Iraqi evidences and demands.” “We have no hope in the success of these efforts,” the premier said.
