Parl. speaker in Tehran to discuss issues of water, missing Iraqis

BAGHDAD / IraqiNews.com: Iraqi Parliament Speaker Iyad al-Samarraie has led a high-ranking delegation to the Iranian capital Tehran to discuss the issues of water and missing Iraqis. “The two sides are expected to discuss several issues of mutual concern, including the water crisis in the southern and al-Furat al-Awsat provinces…,” according to a statement published on the official web site of the Iraqi Accord Front (IAF) to which the speaker belongs. Samarraie, who arrived in Tehran on Monday evening, will discuss the file of Iraqi prisoners, missing prisoners of war and refugees, according to the statement. The visit comes in response to an official invitation from the speaker of the Iranian Majlis, Ali Larijani. The delegation included several lawmakers and parliamentary committee members. SS (P) 1
