Bahrain says it didn’t offer to host Baathists

BAGHDAD / IraqiNews.com: The Bahraini Foreign Ministry denied media reports that it has offered to host Iraqi Baathist leaders who are currently living in Syria, according to an official Iraqi statement. “The Bahraini Foreign Ministry categorically denied some news stories claiming that the Kingdom of Bahrain had offered to host Iraqi Baathists who are currently living in Syria in an attempt to resolve the crisis between Syrian and Iraq…,” read the statement that was published on the official web site of the Iraqi Foreign Ministry. Iraq had requested the United Nations Security Council to form an international tribunal to investigate a series of bloody blasts that rocked the capital Baghdad and left 95 dead and more than 1,000 wounded persons on August 19, 2009.
