Urgent / Maliki’s Dawlat al-Qanoon list announced

BAGHDAD / IraqiNews.com: Dawlat al-Qanoon alliance (State of Law) under Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki was official announced on Thursday to take part in the coming parliamentary elections in mid January 2010. “A total of 40 parties and political movements have been so far approved by the preparatory committee to form the first core of the Dawlat al-Qanoon Alliance,” MP Hassan al-Sanied, from the Daawa party, said at a press conference held in al-Mansour hotel in Baghdad. The new alliance includes among others the Daawa Islamic party, al-Mustaqeloon (independents) bloc, the Nasiri Socialist Movement, the National Democratic Alliance, al-Sabak bloc, al-Intifada (Uprising) al-Shaabaniya bloc, the independent Arab bloc and Feyli Kurds bloc.
