Kurdistan’s candidate for al-Maliki’s deputy post to be named next week

ARBIL / IraqiNews.com: Spokesman for the Kurdistan Alliance (KA) in the Iraqi Parliament, Feryad Rowandouzi, said on Monday that naming the Kurdish candidate for the prime minister’s deputy to succeed Dr. Burham Saleh will be done after the return of President Jalal Talabani from the United States next week. “The candidate for the deputy prime minister post has not been determined,” Rowandouzi told Iraqi News, noting that his selection within the authority of Kurdistan’s President Massoud Barzani. He denied any disagreement between Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK) and the Kurdistan Democratic Party (KDP) in this regard, asserting that the whole issue will be done after the return of President Jalal Talabani from the United States.
