9th fugitive from Tikrit jail captured

SALAH EL-DIN / IraqiNews.com: Security forces arrested on Tuesday another fugitive from the Tikrit prison, raising the number of runaway prisoners who have been captured to nine, a security source said. “Security forces from Khales managed to arrest Tareq Abbas Sabti al-Hashmawi, one of the prisoners who fled the Tikrit jail last week and found a fake ID on him,” the source told Iraqi News. “The forces in Diala will extradite the fugitive to Salah el-Din,” he noted. A total of 16 prisoners managed to escape from the jail in central Tikrit last week, nine of them have been arrested. Tikrit, the capital of Salah el-Din, lies 175 km north of Baghdad. SH (P)/SR 1
