Security conference in Thi-Qar on bombs

THI-QAR / IraqiNews.com: U.S. forces in the west of Nassiriya held on Monday a conference on explosive charges and ways to deal with them with the participation of security commanders of seven provinces, according to a media spokesperson of U.S. forces. “Within our efforts to develop the capabilities of Iraqi forces, we have held a conference of the security commanders of seven provinces (Missan, Wassit, Basra, Muthanna, Diwaniya, Karbala and Thi-Qar) on how to deal with explosive charges and ways of gathering information and the criminal investigation procedures,”a U.S. spokesperson  told Iraqi News. On the possibility of providing the Iraqi forces with the technology to deal with the bombs, a U.S. major told Iraqi News that “we will discuss the issue with the security commanders to identify their needs and will work to raise their demands to our command.” Nassiriya, the capital of Thi-Qar, lies 380 km south of Baghdad.
