Drug smuggler nabbed in Basra

BASRA / IraqiNews.com: Police forces on Wednesday arrested a drug smuggler south of Basra city with drugs on him. “The arrest took place 50 km south of Basra city,” a local security source told IraqiNews.com news agency. He said that 58 kg of Hashish were found on the smuggler. “The smuggler was in the Iraqi army uniform when he was arrested,” the source said. He said that investigation is underway to check the smuggler’s identity. The oil-rich city of Basra lies 590 km south of Baghdad. MH (P)/SR 1
