Baghdad Operations: 5 blasts leaves more than 12 casualties
Baghdad – (IraqiNews.com) Baghdad Operations Command announced on Wednesday, that five bomb blasts hit four different areas of the capital.
Spokesman for the command, Brigadier General Saad Moen, said in a press statement, “This morning, two improvised explosive devices exploded in the 4th Shurta area, while a third one exploded in the 5th Shurta area, in addition to another bomb explosion in al-Bayaa area, killing three persons and wounding nine others.”
“The blasts targeted gatherings of civilians and a popular market,” Moen added.
“A number of civilians were also wounded in another bomb blast near the entrance of al-Za’afaraniyah area, southeast of the capital,” Moen said. “Security forces cordoned off the area of incident and transferred the wounded to a nearby hospital,” he added.
