Iraq eyes Baghdad-Venice flights: Italian media
Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) Iraq is eyeing a flightline between Baghdad and Venice in Italy, Italian media quoted Iraqi transport officials as saying on Tuesday.
Agenzia Nova quoted Iraqi transport minister Kazem Finjan as inviting Italy to open a flightline between the Iraqi capital and Venice to boost economic and tourist exchange between both countries. It added that the minister has already begun to discuss the proposal with Italian ambassador to Baghdad, Marco Carnelos.
According to the report, viewed by Alsumaria News, the minister lauded the role played by Italian companies in Iraqi plans to open new airports in the cities of Nasseriya, al-Kout, Ammara and Basra.
Italian reports also revealed that Iraqi transport ministry will also operate its first flight between Baghdad and Belarus next Friday, followed by another first flight to Montenegro, both supported by the governments in borth countries and with no middle agents.
