IN PHOTOS: Anbar refugee camps overwhelmed with rain water
Anbar (IraqiNews.com) Rain falls have drowned refugee camps in Anbar’s town of Khalidiya, the precinct’s chief, Ali Dawoud, said on Saturday.
He urged international and local organizations, as well as the Iraqi government, to provide urgent assistance to the refugees, and replace tents with caravans to protect them from cold and rainfalls.
There are currently more than 42000 internally displaced Iraqi families in Anbar’s refugee camps.
The United Nations estimates there are at least three million internally displaced Iraqis.
