ISX slightly up on Tuesday by 0.13%

BAGHDAD / IraqiNews.com: Iraq’s Stock Exchange (ISX) index slightly went up by 0.13 percent during Tuesday’s session. Traded shares in the session exceeded 1.4 billion at a total value of over ID2 billion (around $1.8 million) by implementing 561 contracts. Out of 72 companies, shares of 33 firms were traded in today’s session; 12 of them went up, and 13 went down, while eight were able to preserve the same price. The banking sector achieved the highest number of trading shares with 91 percent, and the highest trading volume with 82 percent. The Iraqi Stock Exchange, established under Law No. 74 of the year 2004, held its first session on June 24, 2004. The stock market holds three sessions a week: Sunday, Tuesday, and Thursday.
