Residential compound for those who lost their houses after demarcation

BASRA / IraqiNews.com: A joint committee has been set up to supervise a project to establish a residential compound for those who lost their houses after the 1991 demarcation. “The committee will prepare the land for the project in coordination with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and in accordance with instructions from the Iraqi Cabinet,” the local governor’s deputy, Nizar Rabie al-Jabiri, told IraqiNews.com news agency. The committee has been established following negotiations with an Iraqi Foreign Ministry delegation, Jabiri noted. The Shiite province of Basra lies 590 km south of the Iraqi capital Baghdad.
