Coalition airstrike kills IS official and 6 Emirs in western Mosul
Nineveh (IraqiNews.com) Iraqi Ministry of Defense’s War Media Cell announced on Saturday, that the Islamic State’s official of Jund al-Khilafa (soldiers of the caliphate) was killed, along with six emirs of the group, by a coalition air strike in western Mosul.
The cell said in a press statement, “The international coalition air force conducted an air strike, based on accurate intelligence information, on al-Najjar neighborhood in western Mosul, destroying an important headquarters belonging to the Islamic State.”
“The air strike resulted in the killing of Abu Abdel Rahman al-Ansari, also known as Jund al-Khilafa official, along with 6 military emirs of the Islamic State,” the statement added.
“The killed emirs are Abu Khalid (Saudi national), Sabah al-Anzi (Saudi national), Abu Azzam (Saudi national), Abu Hejab (Saudi national), Abu Sayah (Jordanian) and Abu Taiba (Bahraini),” the statement further explained.
