Security forces foil IS attack west of Ramadi, militants killed
Anbar (IraqiNews.com) Iraqi security forces managed to foil an attack launched by the Islamic State, west of Ramadi, and also killed a number of the group’s militants, a security source told Alsumaria News on Saturday.
The source said, “Security forces managed to foil an attack launched by the Islamic State on an army battalion, west of the city of Rutba (310 km west of Ramadi).”
“A number of the Islamic State’s members were killed, and a vehicle belonging to the group was destructed during the attack,” the source added on condition of anonymity.
Noteworthy, Rutba District is controlled by joint forces from the army, police and tribes, and attacked from time to time by the Islamic State group.
