Iron & Steel Company says 2010 to witness leap in production

BASRA / IraqiNews.com: The director general of the Iron and Steel Company in Basra said that it will improve the quality of its production during the coming year as a first stage of a five-year plan to rehabilitate its factories. “The government has allocated 466 billion Iraqi dinars for the renovation of the company’s factories, which is scheduled to take place from early 2010 to late 2013. Production is expected to reach 6.5 to 8 million tons after the completion of renovation works,” Rasoul Qasem said in an interview with IraqiNews.com news agency.
