Police nab escaped prisoner in Kirkuk

KIRKUK / IraqiNews.com: Police forces in Kirkuk arrested a prisoner who had escaped from a prison southwest of Kirkuk city, a local police source said on Thursday. “Ali Sobhi was arrested in a raid operation late yesterday night,” Brigadier Sarhad Qadir told IraqiNews.com news agency. He said that Sobhi has been on the run for more than two months, and that the arrest operation relied on intelligence tip-offs. The oil-rich city of Kirkuk lies 250 km northeast of Baghdad.
