Kirkuk police arrest 2 wanted men

KIRKUK / IraqiNews.com: An Iraqi security force arrested two wanted men southwest of the city of Kirkuk on Monday, according to a senior police official. “A combined force from the Kirkuk Districts’ Police Department and the Tarklan police station captured two wanted men near the Tarklan checkpoint, (20 km) southwest of Kirkuk,” KDPD chief Brig. Sarhad Qader told IraqiNews.com news agency. “Initial investigations revealed that one of the two men, of the name Khaled Mahmoud Ali, is wanted by the district court of al-Huweija, (70 km) southwest of Kirkuk,” he added. Qader did not mention the name of the second arrested man “for security reasons”. “The two arrested men were referred to the Kirkuk’s High Investigations Department for interrogations,” he said. The oil-rich Kirkuk, a city of mixed Turkmen, Kurdish and Arab population, lies 250 km northeast of the Iraqi capital Baghdad. AmR (P) 1
