37 mortar shells seized south of Kirkuk

KIRKUK / IraqiNews.com: Personnel from the Kirkuk Districts’ Police Department seized 37 mortar shells of different calibers south of the city on Sunday, according to the KDPD chief. “The shells, seized in the Leilan district, (10 km) south of Kirkuk, upon intelligence tip-offs, were brought to the KDPD headquarters,” Brig. Sarhad Qader told IraqiNews.com news agency. He did not give any further details. The oil-rich Kirkuk, a city of mixed Arab, Kurdish and Turkmen population, lies 250 km northeast of the Iraqi capital Baghdad. AmR (P)/SR 1
