2 children freed in Kirkuk years after kidnapping
KIRKUK / IraqiNews.com: Two children were freed in the city of Kirkuk years after being kidnapped, the deputy chief of al-Muqdad police said on Thursday. “The father of one of the kidnapped children from Diala province, Diyaa Wahab, learned through his searching that the child was a student in the second grade in an elementary school in Kirkuk,” Colonel Kamel Ahmad told IraqiNews.com news agency. “The child was found in al-Waseti neighborhood in Kirkuk,” he added, noting that the child, who had been kidnapped from Diala three years earlier, recognized his father immediately. “The forces rushed to the house, where the child lives, and found another kidnapped child from Diala,” he added. “The child is believed to be from Diala and attempts are underway to find his parents,” he said. “The kidnappers are two men and a woman and they raised the children as brothers,” he explained.
