Booby-trapped vehicle explodes near Ramadi, 8 civilians killed
Ramadi (IraqiNews.com) A booby-trapped vehicle exploded, on Thursday, near the city of Ramadi, west of Anbar, killing eight civilians, Security Consultant to the Head of Anbar Provincial Council, Hussein Kassar said.
Kassar said in a press statement that a booby-trapped truck exploded, today, inside one of the houses in Abu al-Jeer area, south of al-Wafaa area (35 Km west of Ramadi).
The explosion directed in the killing of eight civilians, including six women and children, as well as wounding two others, Kassar added.
The truck was bought by one of the terrorist to the nearby house to be detonated in the city of Ramadi, he further explained. The booby-trapped vehicle exploded inside the house, causing severe material damage to the surrounding area.
The city of Ramadi is frequently attacked by the Islamic State, even after being released in 2015, using booby-trapped vehicles and suicide bombers, usually leaving civil casualties.
