Barzani: Terrorists were unable to damage unity among diverse entities
Erbil (BasNews) Kurdistan Region President Masoud Barzani extended his greetings to the Christians in Kurdistan, Iraq and around the globe on the Easter Sunday, wishing them a happy Easter.
In a statement released on April 15, Barzani highlighted the culture of coexistence, peace and brotherhood in the Kurdistan Region.
Kurdistan is a “shining example” of peaceful coexistence among different religious and ethnic components, Barzani said, urging all sides to maintain and develop this culture.
He explained that terrorists of the Islamic State (IS) were unable to harm the unity and brotherhood among the different ethnic and religious entities.
Barzani hoped the Christians, who have been displaced at the hand of the IS militants, will return to their homes in the nearest future as the terrorists were successfully defeated by the Peshmerga forces.
“We all live in one country and share the same destiny and you are a significant part of Kurdistan,” Barzani said addressing the Christians.
