MP calls for questioning oil minister for bad oil production

BAGHDAD / IraqiNews.com: MP from the Iraqi Accord Front (IAF), Rashied al-Azzawi, called for questioning Oil Minister Hussein al-Shahrestani due to the decline in oil production and the daily theft of thousands of oil barrels. “It is necessary to question the oil minister as we canot remain silent inside the parliament regarding these issues,” al-Azzawi said in a statement on Wednesday. “Questioning ministers is one of lawmakers’ duties to fight corruption which started to spread in the state’s ministries, including the Electricity Ministry and the Independent High Electoral Commission (IHEC),” he added.
