Ninewa council demands U.S. troops to explain their behavior with TV correspondent

NINEWA / Aswat all-Iraq: The Ninewa council demanded on Friday U.S. troops to present and explanation of their behavior with a TV correspondent in Mosul, stressing the importance of respecting journalists’ work. “On Thursday (Oct. 8), a U.S. force threatened Journalist Mounir Asaad, correspondent of al-Hurra satellite channel, and confiscated his camera’s film after making interviews with citizens and officials at the city hall on the security conditions in Ninewa,” the council said in a statement received by IraqiNews.com news agency. “The council strongly condemns this act and demands the U.S. army to explain this violation and to apologize to the journalist,” the statement added.
