Al-Maliki’s office denies reports on assaulting Iraq’s amb. in Washington

BAGHDAD / IraqiNews.com: Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki’s office denied on Thursday reports of an assault against Iraq’s Ambassador in Washington Samier al-Samedei by al-Maliki’s bodyguards during the premier’s visit to Washington. The office described in a statement, received by IraqiNews.com news agency, such reports as groundless. Al-Maliki paid a visit to Washington to take part in the investment conference, where he met with U.S. President Barack Obama and Secretary of State Hillary Clinton as well as other senior officials.
