Al-Sadr calls for expelling U.S. forces, companies from Iraq

ARBIL / IraqiNews.com: Shiite cleric Muqtada al-Sadr called on his bloc to face the presence of U.S. forces and bases in the country, urging the government to release all detainees. This came in a statement released by the Sadrist bloc quoted by the Elaph newspaper on the 11th anniversary of the assassination Muqtada’s father, Mohammad Mohammad, Sadeq al-Sadr, who was killed in 1997. He reiterated his call to his bloc to continue facing U.S. forces and bases in the country, stressing the importance of releasing all detainees who “fought against the occupier”, the statement said.
