MP says political aims to summon oil minister

BAGHDAD / IraqiNews.com: There are “political goals” behind the calls to summon the Iraqi Oil Minister Hussein al-Shahrestani, Lawmaker Ali al-Allaq of the Islamic Daawa Party said on Tuesday. “The Oil Ministry’s performance is acceptable and meets challenges that Iraq currently faces,” al-Allaq told IraqiNews.com news agency. He said that few issues can be explained to legislators about the Oil Ministry, but not to the point of summoning al-Shahrestani.
