Anbar (IraqiNews.com) U.S.-led Coalition jets have killed eleven Islamic State militants and injured four civilians in shelling, west of Anbar, a security source said.

Speaking to Alghad Pess on Tuesday, the source said, “U.S.-led Coalition jets shelled IS locations in al-Sanjak region, near Syrian-Iraqi borders.”

“The jets also shelled al-Nahda al-Sharqiya school, used by IS as a headquarter in Qaim, killing more than 11 militants and wounding four citizens living near the school.” the source added.

In related news, another security source said the militant group deployed an air force in Qaim to secure arrival of militants coming from Syria.

On Monday, Lebanon’s Hezbollah and the Syrian government agreed with the group on transferring the militants from the border areas with Lebanon to al-Bukamal region on Iraqi-Syrian borders.

Anbar’s western towns of Anah, Qaim and Rawa are still held by the extremist group since 2014, when it occupied one third of Iraq to proclaim a self-styled Islamic Caliphate. Iraqi troops were able to return life back to normal in the biggest cities of Anbar including Fallujah, Ramadi and others after recapturing them.

Fighter jets from the Iraqi army and the international coalition regularly pound IS locations in the province.
