MP threatens to question justice, human rights ministers for failure

BAGHDAD / IraqiNews.com: Member of the parliament’s human rights committee, Omar al-Hiejel, on Tuesday threatened to question justice and human rights ministers for the failure in following up on 2700 prisoners’ affairs in Kurdistan. “We will summon human rights and justice ministers to question them on their failure to follow up on 2700 prisoners’ affairs who were transferred from the Abu Gharieb jail to the Jamjamal jail in Kurdistan region,” the lawmakers told reporters in Baghdad. He urged Kurdistan’s Prime Minister Burham Saleh to intervene to save the lives of these prisoners, eight of whom died from epidemic diseases. SH (P)/SR 1
