Russian MoD: HTS Leader Golany injured in airstrikes on Syria
(Syria News) Russian Ministry of Defense announced that its warplanes have carried out several air strikes in Syria, injuring the Leader of Hay’at Tahrir al-Sham (HTS) Abu Mohammed al-Golany, Qasioun News reported.
The Spokesman for the Russian Ministry of Defense, Igor Konashinkov, said, “Twelve elite leaders of Hay’at Tahrir al-Sham (HTS) were killed, including the assistant of the militia’s Leader al-Golany, in air strikes conducted by Russian warplanes.”
Furthermore, Konashinkov pointed out that the Golany was criticaly injured due to the air strikes, and his hand was amputated; however, he did not reveal the place of the airstrikes.

Russian military sources also posted a video on Twitter for the Russian air strikes that were carried out to target al-Golany and other senior leaders, saying that the Russian military intelligence detected the place and time of the meeting of Hay’at Tahrir al-Sham leaders, then the Russian Forces Command in Syria decided to conduct the air strikes.
“SU-34 and SU-35 warplanes were assigned to carry out the air strikes, and managed to target al-Golany who suffered critical injuries,” the Russian MoD stated.
Meanwhile, Hay’at Tahrir al-Sham denied the injury of its leader Abu Mohammed al-Golany and affirmed that he is safe and carrying out his tasks.
